Google’s Domination of the Internet

Robert Cringley at the PBS might be on to something. Naming Google as Google-Mart, begins to put Google's entire corporation into context. Google, focusing on their strengths and adequately utilizing their resources could become the internet that we all use in the future.

I personally would really like to see one of Google's mobile datacenters first hand. The idea of mobile data centers is not new; however, it has never been done to this extreme before. Couple that with the access to fiber all around the world and Google certainly could take over. The idea of distributing web content across their own fiber network to local data centers feeding top level ISPs would dramatically improve the web's performance.

Even more impressive and potentially scary is how much information google would have access to. Google has already developed gigantic data libraries on millions of people. With more localized access to end users, those libraries would only grow.
